Deceit, bluff, mystification

She told him once, not long ago: “I much rather be bluffed again and again, than live under a strong paranoia.”

Bad faith and subterfuge still surprise her, fill her eyes with tears in an urge to explode. But then again and again the pain of being a victim of deception is a relieve. It reminds her what a big step it was to make that old decision. “I will be an idiot, I will be happy”.

When she remembers her friend’s words she wonders why he would call himself her friend: she warned him “words have a meaning”. He used his powers, speechless words. He was subtlety guileful. She was hurt, but she is happy.

Relieved.
